RAGDOLL: $1,000-$1,300

Ragdoll

Origin: California
Size: 8-20 pounds
Life Expectancy: 15 years
Character: Calm and docile

American breeder Ann Baker first developed the Ragdoll in the 1960s. It got its name because the first breed would flop around like a rag doll when it was picked up. They continue to be one of the most playful cat breeds, sometimes being likened to puppies. In addition to their calm and playful nature, the Ragdoll is one of the largest cat breeds. These animals also tend to be affectionate with their owners, making them the perfect companion for people who enjoy cuddling with their pets. In fact, their will-ingness to be affectionate with owners and follow them around is why Ragdolls are sometimes referred to as “dog-like cats.”

INSURING A RAGDOLL CAT COSTS AROUND $33 PER MONTH
